Banana - Many of the bananas found in our supermarkets are large and bright yellow.

There are many different varieties, including tiny finger and apple bananas and small red bananas with yellowish pink flesh. They can be eaten raw, sliced into fruit salads or custard, baked , fried or mashed and added to cakes, tea breads and muffins. Bananas are picked while they are still unripe.
