Native to China, these small, oval fruits have a thin , brittle knobbly skin, that varies from pinkish-brown to red. Inside the flesh is translucent white with a shiny brown stone inside. They have a rosey, fragrant, sweet, taste reminiscent of Muscat grapes. The fruit is eaten raw and can be used in fruit salads.
