Curly kale

Jump to search
Curly kale is one of the hardiest of the cabbage family. It is a good Winter standby as it is readily available, where other vegetables may not be. The vegetable originated in Scotland as it suits the harsh growing conditions. It's an unusual green vegetable in that it doesn't have a heart, it has thick stalks and tougher leaves than other cabbages. It's added stews and soups and best eaten cooked.
