Strongly flavoured pink shallots have pink red skins and pink tinged flesh with a crisp texture. They are a popular ingredient in French cuisine and a best finely chopped or sliced and sautéed for inclusion in stews or braises. They can also be used whole, braised, or caramelised for tarts.
