Native to Iran, the pomegranate has been esteemed since ancient times and played a part in myth and religion.

It's about the size of an orange and has a hard orange red blushed skin. Containing seeds coated in red flesh. Each seed is surrounded in white pith. Fruity, juicy seeds are great eaten raw. Also often used to decorate sweet and savoury dishes. The seeds can be squeezed for the juice.
