Swiss Chard
Although likened to spinach, Swiss chard's a much firmer and slightly wrinkled leaves, with thick fleshy edible stalks and ribs. It has a good flavour, with a stronger more robust taste of spinach. Serve as an accompaniment, sautéed in butter, coated in creamy sauce cooked au gratin, or added to omelettes as such as frittata.
Swiss Chard is in season from Autumn to Winter.
