Ugli Fruit

Ugli Fruit is another mandarin-grapefruit hybrid, like minneola.

The large ugly fruit can can grow to more than 15cm in diameter and bears little resemblance to either of its parent fruits. It has a thick, baggy, yellowish green rind, which is easy to peel away from the juicy segmented fruit inside. The flesh has a sweet scented honey flavour. Ugly fruits are usually eaten as a dessert fruit, peeled and divided into segments, or cut in half and served like a grapefruit.
